I'm Martin Shelton, a user researcher with the press and at-risk groups.

I do user research at Google Chrome. I also study and teach digital security practices for journalists.

As part of the 2016 OpenNews Fellowship, I worked with The Coral Project at The New York Times.

I write a column for OpenNews Source called Shields Up, on healthy security practices in journalism.

I previously worked with Google Privacy Research & Design, Pew Research, and Twitter as an intern.

I also created Tinfoil.press to connect people interested in journalism, media activism, and security.
